Our Organization

The local church in the New Testament had elders, also called bishops ("overseers" - Acts 20:17, 28; 1 Timothy 3:1-7) and shepherds ("pastors" - 1 Peter 5:1-3; Ephesians 4:11), who oversee the spiritual work and teaching of the church.  The New Testament church also had deacons who served the church in its physical necessities (1 Timothy 3:8-13; Acts 6:1-4) and evangelists who publicly preach.  The church which meets at 1028 N. 32nd street in Paducah, Ky., is blessed to have 4 elders and 9 deacons and a fulltime evangelist.  Jesus Christ is the "chief shepherd" (1 Peter 5:4) and all work is done under His authority.
